About The Magnetic Field...

The Magnetic Field is Asheville's only cafe, bar and performance house. We are open at 3:00 p.m. daily, Monday - Saturday. Our expert chefs and bartenders make new and exciting specials each night, and most evenings there will be some type of performance happening in our adjoining theatre.

After several years of working in theatre and the arts in Asheville, it became obvious that with the amount of talent and potential in this town another venue was needed. The idea that came out of that was The Magnetic Field. With The Magnetic Field my goal was to create a space that would be a comfortable, relaxed place to come for dinner or a drink, and also have a high-quality, professional performance venue.

Located in the Glen Rock Depot in the east end of Asheville’s River Arts District, we present shows of all types, from theatre to music to stand-up comedy to dance, and many more. We are also proud to be the only theatre in the Southeast presenting all original works, and to be the River Arts District's first professional theatre.
