The Performance House

The Magnetic Field will be Asheville’s first professional-quality multi-use Performance House for theatre, music, stand-up comedy, dance, and any other type of performance you can imagine... all attached to your neighborhood Coffee Shop and Bar. For seated performances the venue's capacity will be 72 patrons in bistro-style table seating where your food and drink will be available during the performance. For standing room, chairs and tables are emptied out and capacity is around 130 patrons. The space features 15 foot ceilings, and we will have 30 lighting instruments, and a professional sound system, placing it alongside the finest theatre and music venues in Asheville.

Upon opening we will be focusing on new works, a unique proposition not just to the area but to the region. Led by our Artistic Director, Steven Samuels, we will focus on developing new playwrights, musicians and choreographers, so when you come to The Magnetic Field you can expect to see something that you won't have seen anywhere else.
